USC NURSE CALL
The project called for the replacement of the existing Zettler nurse call system within USC Keck’s Main Hospital with a new state-of-the-art HillRom/Baxter system.
In total, ConAm/Hill Rom installed 375 +/- devices in the Gold Tower floors 1 (ETC), 2-9 and Cardinal Tower 2, 3 and 4. The renovation project was constructed under HCAI 1 guidelines within a licensed Department of Public Health hospital. The project presented various challenges including working within a fully-operational hospital environment. ConAm worked with USC’s vendors and contractors (medical equipment, tele-data cabling, AV, etc.) to ensure streamlined communications and timely delivery. We implemented our Disruption Avoidance Program (DAP) and presented USC with a multi-phased schedule, ICRA plan, and logistics plan. The schedule was broken out into 9 phases with 3-4 room conversions at a time. Our team worked day and night shifts depending on which department and floor we were working on to minimize noise, vibration and/or odor that would affect ongoing operations of the facility.
