Ryan brings an abundance of engineering and project management experience to the ConAm Building Co. team. After graduating from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering, Ryan began his career as a mechanical system engineer. Working for an MEP engineering consulting firm, Ryan spent six years in design while working on complex projects in the laboratory, higher education and retail markets. Notable projects included a new 25,000 sf laboratory for Quintiles/ Q2 Solutions Genomics Laboratories and the new 100,000 sf Science and Agriculture Teaching and Research Center for California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
Ryan’s growing passion led him to obtain his Professional Engineering License, leading to new opportunities in project management and mechanical engineering. This allowed him to oversee large-scaled projects in the higher education, science and technology markets. In this new role, Ryan managed projects through both the design and construction phases, working alongside project architects and contractors. At that time, Ryan’s daily responsibilities consisted of managing project teams, negotiating contracts, and maintaining project schedules.
As his focus began to shift from design and narrow in on construction, Ryan set out for a career change. Now as a project manager at ConAm Building Co., Ryan pulls his past engineering and project management experience to efficiently coordinate and effectively manage construction projects. Ryan’s concentrated expertise brings a unique eye to the ConAm team, allowing him to foresee and mitigate potential design and construction flaws before they occur in the field. Ryan continues to work alongside the project design team, and now collaborates with project superintendents, on-site staff and clients to ensure a smooth construction process from start to finish.
